岩瀬さんは、東京の八王子郊外の緑豊かな地にご自宅と工房を構える陶人です。 築100年以上の古民家にご一家で仲睦まじくお住まいで、今年、晴れて喜寿を迎えられました。 その昔は、柿瓷や黒瓷など独自の薬掛けの作品を作られてきましたが、昨今はこれらの作品を封印し、粉引、伊羅保、刷毛目、そして最新作の井戸など、高麗茶碗を作られる様になりました。
何故、今、高麗茶碗なのか、岩瀬さんに伺ってみると、「陶芸を志したきっかけのひとつが井戸茶碗。以来、半世紀以上経過した今の私の茶碗観を具現化したく、さらに和物茶碗としての粉引や井戸に挑戦するという遥かな夢に向かって精進してまいります。」との事。 高麗茶碗は古陶の名碗が沢山あり、どうしてもこれらと比較されてしまいますから、作りづらいのではと思うのですが、あえて、令和の高麗茶碗に挑むその作陶姿勢に、私は共感を抱きました。
そして、本展のご案内状用にとお送りいただいた上の茶碗は、古陶の高麗茶碗の影が見え隠れするものの、しっかり令和の岩瀬茶碗になっていて嬉しくなりました。 井戸は風格ある佇まいで、ロクロ目と高台周りの梅花皮(かいらぎ)の景色も美しい一碗です。 彼の十八番である粉引は、そのトロッとした白釉が優しく、おっとりとした雰囲気も掌に馴染みます。
弊廊でほぼ二年振りとなる本展では、最新作の高麗茶碗など、100点を発表致します。 温厚なお人柄で、愛陶家からの信望も厚い岩瀬さんは会期中、毎日在廊されます。 小雪の候で、寒さに向かう頃ですが、是非お手に取り、ご高評を頂ければ幸いです。

| Biography Biography | Born in Tokyo in 1946. 1966: Studied under Professor Yasunari Matsui. 1968: Studied under Professor Kiyoaki Tsuji and Professor Kyo Tsuji. 昭和47年 八王子市に独立築窯 In 1985, he was selected for the 8th Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, and has been selected for numerous other exhibitions since then. 1986: Solo exhibition at Matsuya Ginza; 29 exhibitions held since. In 1998, he was selected for the 45th Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, and has been selected for numerous other exhibitions since then. 2009: Selected for the 3rd Kikuchi Biennale Exhibition. 2022: Received the Oribe Encouragement Award at the 14th Contemporary Tea Ceramics Exhibition. Currently a full member of the Japan Crafts Association |
