| Introduction Introduction |
Time flies, and this marks the sixth time we've held Toukoubou Yuu tableware exhibition at our gallery. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone for making this possible. Toukoubou Yuu (formerly Toukoubou) is a Bizen ware pottery studio established 15 years ago by Shusaku and Yosaku, brothers who are sons of the renowned Bizen ware craftsman Yuuhou Kaneshige , and their apprentice, Osamu Saito. Needless to say, that place is located at the foot of a scenic mountain in Imbe, Bizen City. Last year, Mr. Saito became independent, and now he and his brother work together harmoniously on their creative projects. As both of them approach the age of half-white hair, I'm realizing that I, too, am getting older, and I'm feeling the passage of time.
His works range from Bizen ware to Karatsu ware, and include pieces that utilize inlay and sgraffito techniques. Their pottery wheel skills are excellent, and their pieces have a pleasant weight and high durability. In our home, their dishes are used frequently and are always kept at the front of the cupboard. On the other hand, when it comes to tea ceremony utensils, he has faithfully inherited the style of his father, who was renowned for his tea ceramics, and is releasing works full of tea-like charm at affordable prices. And, as mentioned above, we will be holding the tea ceremony hosted by the two of them, which was very well received last time. We would be delighted if you could join us. Of course, I will also be helping out in the tea preparation area.
Now, getting back to the main topic. This exhibition, the first at our gallery in three years, will feature around 200 new works, as shown on the reverse side. Please feel free to take a look and offer your frank and honest guidance to the two of them. I will visit them in October and head to Bizen City. I am really looking forward to reuniting with my siblings.

| special tea party Tea Party | ▶ Invitation to the commemorative tea ceremony "Shimo-furi Tea Ceremony" We will be holding a commemorative tea ceremony, "Shimo-furi no Chakai" (Frost-Breaking Tea Ceremony), in the tea room of Shinjuku Kakiden, located above the Kakiden Gallery. The hosts will be brothers Shuusaku Kaneshige and Yosaku, Bizen ware ceramic artists who are currently holding the " Toukoubou Yuu (Yu) Foodware Exhibition VI" at the Kakiden Gallery. Beginners who have never participated in a tea ceremony before are also very welcome. Please feel free to enjoy a cup of tea with Bizen-related utensils as autumn deepens. We look forward to receiving your applications. • Date and Time: Monday, October 26th, two sessions available: one at 11:00 AM and another at 1:00 PM. * Please gather at the Kokon Salon (6th floor) for registration and donations 15 minutes before your seat is set. ・席主 金重周作 金重陽作 • Location: Shinjuku Kyo-kaiseki Kakiden (Yasuyo Building, 3-37-11 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) Reception and donations: "Kokon Salon / 6th floor" ↓ Light tea ceremony "Zangetsutei/9th floor" ↓ Dim sum seating area: "Chair seating / 8th floor" * Please gather at the Kokon Salon (6th floor), where registration and donations are handled, at least 15 minutes before your scheduled seating time. * The dim sum (meal) consists of a small appetizer, a tiered bento box filled with seasonal vegetables, a simmered dish, rice, and pickles.
