On April 15, 2008, Kiyoaki Tsuji passed away, followed shortly after by his wife, Kyo.

These two individuals honed their skills together, each forging their own unique path.

Seimei lived her life with dignity, without fawning over authority, while Kyo, as a pioneer among female ceramic artists, created practical tableware for everyday life.

He could probably be considered the last great ceramic artist of this century, given the sheer scale of his work.

Seimei began pottery at the age of eleven, and at sixteen, he opened the Tsuji Pottery Research Institute with his sister, Teruko.

Perhaps due to his precocious nature, his Shigaraki ware surpasses the originals, possessing a unique "bright tranquility" that is characteristic of Seimei.

He began working with glass at the age of 63. Regarding his work with glass, he says, "My role now is to borrow forms from glass, and at the same time, to return the forms of pottery to glass."

His genius can be seen not only in his ceramics but also in his glasswork.

Meanwhile, Kyo excelled at cooking and created many dishes that graced the dining table.

In his later years, he became a follower of Omiwa Shrine in Nara, which enshrines Mount Miwa as its sacred object, and created microcosmic works that expressed the world of prayer.

The works in this exhibition always capture the "present moment" of two people who lived each moment to the fullest.

Mikawachi Pottery Hirado Matsuyama Kiln: Third Generation Exhibition - Katsutoshi Nakazato, Tsukito Nakazato, and Akishi NakazatoThis is a report.

The final event of the year was the Hirado Matsuyama Kiln's exhibition showcasing the work of three generations of artisans.

Mikawachi ware is pottery made in the Mikawachi district of Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture.

Originating in the early Edo period, this craft has preserved its exquisite techniques for over 400 years.

Adorable paintings of Chinese children and meticulously drawn wave patterns,

Many of the works on display exuded the softness and elegance characteristic of Mikawachi ware.

We held a solo exhibition of Kamakura-bori (Kamakura carving) artist Kamiyu Mihashi.

In addition to traditional Kamakura-bori works, this exhibition also featured uniquely created artistic pieces.

During the exhibition period, there will be tea ceremonies hosted by Professor Mihashi, as well as tea ceremonies held within the gallery.

This exhibition offered many enjoyable events.

Iyo Ogami's Monster Pottery Exhibition IIThis is a report.

We held a solo exhibition by Mr. Ogami, who creates eerie yet adorable "monsters" in Tanba.

Many of the works appear to be objects at first glance,

Upon closer inspection, you can see that it is carefully crafted so that it can be used properly as a serving dish.

During the event, a tea ceremony was held with Professor Ogami as the host.

The "monsters" also made an appearance in the tea ceremony as utensils.

It was a delightful tea ceremony, with many people saying "cute!!" rather than "scary!!"

Kazuhiro Suzuki's Exhibition of Tea Ceremony FabricsThis is a report.

We held a solo exhibition by Professor Kazuhiro Suzuki of the Suzuki Jidaigire Research Institute.

Professor Suzuki is based in Kyoto and is engaged in research, restoration, reproduction, and creation of textiles.

This exhibition focuses on items such as fukusa (wrapping cloths) and sukiyabukuro (tea ceremony bags) made from beautiful fabrics.

Stylish items such as pouches, bags, and scarves were also on display.

The "Stories about Fabrics" sessions, held almost daily, were well-received.

Everyone who attended was captivated by Professor Suzuki's clear and engaging presentation.

Encountering Blue: Eri Shimamoto × Yasushi Okada, Junji Setsu, and Akiko Tomikawa - A Four-Person ExhibitionThis is a report.

Calligrapher Eri Shimamoto is already making a name for herself internationally with her art pieces using ink and blue.

Mr. Yasushi Okada, a ceramic artist from Hagi, is gaining popularity for his works featuring a pale blue glaze, which he calls "Pale Blue Glaze."

Mr. Junji Setsu, a ceramic artist from Kyoto, has established a world of beautifully flowing patterns that go beyond just blue, using a technique called "colored suminagashi" (ink marbling).

Akiko Tomikawa, a ceramic artist from Kamakura, is gaining attention for her clear blue works, which she calls "ice blue glaze."

This exhibition features "blue" as a central theme, and showcases four artists: a calligrapher and three ceramic artists.

The works of the four artists resonated with and complemented each other, creating a wonderfully harmonious space.

The Team Kutani Exhibition, which is always well-received, is now in its sixth year.

This year's theme is "The Four Seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter."

We exhibited works by 10 ceramic artists and their advisor ceramic artist.

The rich colors and intricately applied patterns, characteristic of Kutani ware, are a joy to behold.

The customers who came seemed to be so engrossed in looking around that they lost track of time.

Zeze-yaki Kagerouen Exhibition -Frost-colored Tea Ceramics-This is a report.

Zeze ware originated in the early Edo period in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, as an "official kiln" used by the Shogun's family.

The works began to be created based on the aesthetic sensibilities of Kobori Enshu.

After going through various historical periods, Kagerouen is now the only remaining pottery studio.

On the first and second days, they will be holding "Zeze de Matcha New Wave,"

We held a tea ceremony in a new style, where thin matcha tea was poured into small sake cups and served to guests.

This past week, I've truly appreciated the charm of Zeze ware, which possesses a simple yet somehow elegant beauty.

Hosokawa Morimitsu Ceramic ExhibitionThis is a report.

We held a solo exhibition by Professor Morimitsu Hosokawa, his first in two and a half years.

The exhibition featured black Raku tea bowls, red Raku tea bowls, and Ido tea bowls as the main focus, along with tea caddies, flower vases, sake vessels, and tableware.

Each piece was meticulously crafted, reflecting Mr. Hosokawa's kind and gentle personality.

The previous Hosokawa exhibition had to be shortened due to concerns about preventing the spread of infection,
