| Introduction Introduction |
As we transition from the cold dew season to the frost season, we will be holding Morimitsu Hosokawa Pottery Exhibition.
While currently holding various important positions, Mr. Goko continues to diligently create pottery in Kumamoto, a region that has been carefully governed by the ancestors of the Higo Hosokawa family since Lord Hosokawa Yusai. He is a cousin of the head of the Omotesenke school, Master Yuusai, and his unpretentious, honest, and kind personality is surely the reason why he is loved by many people, including myself.
Now, for this exhibition, our sixth in two years, we will be presenting our latest works, primarily Raku and Ido ware tea bowls, as well as sake vessels and tableware. The Raku tea bowl you sent us for the invitation has enhanced the tea's flavor more than ever before, fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, and the green of the matcha stands out beautifully. I'm sure it will make for a truly delicious cup of tea.
Three years ago, Mr. Goko was appointed chairman of the "Tea Ceremony Enthusiasts' Association," a research and practice group for the tea ceremony that our company presides over. I am deeply grateful for your time despite your extremely busy schedule. And this spring, at the Omotesenke Alumni Association's national convention, held in Kumamoto for the first time in three years, she served as the host of the tea ceremony and also gave a lecture. Under the leadership of Chairman Goko, our association is determined to contribute to the further development of tea ceremony culture, and I, though still inexperienced, feel even more strongly that I must strive harder.
I hope you will enjoy viewing this during this deepening autumn season.
