ポエジイのない技術は空虚であるが、技術のないポエジイは無力であると言います。 そこで、令和7年の萩傳流展は、地元山口を代表する詩人・中原中也の詩から茶碗に挑戦しました。今展は、萩焼作家六人による中原中也の詩のオマージュです。
Yasushi Okadaの《白萩釉窯変灰被割高台茶盌》は中也の詩を表現した茶盌です。 「ホテルの屋根に降る雪は 過ぎしその手か、囁きか」の雪の情景を萩土と白萩釉の温かみある釉調で表し、「ふかふか煙突煙吐いて」or「ほんに別れたあのおんな、いまごろどうしてゐるのやら」という中也の切ない心を茶盌の変形したフォルムや割高台で表現しています。
坂高麗左衛門の《練込捻手茶碗》は「松の木に風が吹き、踏む砂利の音は寂しかった。暖かい風が私の頬を洗ひ 思ひははるかに、なつかしかつた」'心象』を表現した茶碗です。 「あはれわれ死なんと欲す、あはれわれ生きむと欲す」という揺れ動く詩人の心を、顔料を混ぜて着色したマーブル状の土を手捻りで左右不均等な形に仕上げています。風や浪、砂利の音が聞こえて来そうです。
Sakakura Shinbeiの《茶盌-ほしうみ-》は「黒い夜草深い野にあつて、一匹の獣が火消壺の中で 燧石(ひうちいし)を打つて、星を作つた。冬を混ぜる 風が鳴って」'幼獣の歌』の詩の朗読を聴きながら轆轤を挽くなかで、言語的な認識と感覚的なインスピレーションで制作した茶盌です。 『幼獣の歌』が孕む情景に一番リンクする焼き上がりの茶盌を1点選びました。 もう一つは《盌-骨によせて-》です。頭蓋(とうがい)や肋骨(ろっこつ)は大切な臓器を守る鎧骨(よろいぼね)ですが、久方ぶりに挑戦した肋骨をモチーフにした作品です。
Shinjo Shohiroの《萩茶碗》は「海にゐるのは、あれは人魚ではないのです。海にゐるのは、あれは、浪ばかり」'北の海』を表現した茶碗です。 赤土を使用することで北の暗い海を、土中の砂で飛沫を表わし、波は藁灰釉(白釉)を正面と見込みに垂らし表現しました。
Takao Taharaの《手捏茶碗》は「冬の夜に 私の心が悲しんでゐる悲しんでゐる。わけもなく……心は錆びて、紫色をしてゐる。」'冷たい夜』を表現した茶碗です。 藁灰釉を何層かに分けて掛けたものです。 形は「私の心が悲しんでゐる」「綿の実が罅裂(はじ)ける」などの言葉から「掌(たなごころ)」をイメージして手捻りで制作しました。
玉村登陽の《萩粉引茶盌》は「幼年期 私の上に降る雪は 真綿のやうでありました」'生い立ちの歌』を表現した茶盌です。 人生を降る雪に譬えた中也の「真綿(まわた)のやうな」「霙(みぞれ)のやうな」「霰(あられ)のやうな」「雹(ひょう)のやうな」表情を粉引で表わし、最後の「いと貞潔でありました」という言葉から、凛として潔くすらりとした井戸茶碗となりました。
