白磁の果肉
この数年間、高橋奈己さんが言葉の端々に焼締陶への関心を含ませてきたことが印象に残っています。 最近の作風の展開をみるに、焼締めの有する美質は、実は作家が、常に自作と結びつけながら咀嚼し、向き合い続けてきた核心と言えるのかもしれません。
凛としながらも、胎土が内側から呼吸しているようなゆとりをそなえた白磁。 プリーツで構成されたかたちは、映し出される光と影の濃淡により表情が変化します。 真珠やプラチナ釉を用いた作品は光沢を質感としてみせます。 一方、粗めの土で成形した作品では、作家がかつてイタリアで制作したテラコッタの記憶を辿るように、やきものにおける表情のまだらさを追求しています。
高橋さんにとって造形の着想源でもある果実は、甘美で瑞々しく、時に周囲を刺激しながら、熟していきます。 曇りのない白の作品世界を支えてきた内奥が、いま、じわりと滲み始めています。
