| Introduction Introduction |
As the winter solstice approaches and the weather gets colder, we will be holding a joint exhibition featuring works by a French ceramic artist and a French abstract painter.
陶芸家は、弊廊でも馴染みのあるアンドシュ・プローデルさんで、パリから南南西に進み、赤ワインで有名なボルドーの手前にあるルビニャックという美しい村で懸命に作陶されています。 Her works include flower vases and objects based on the shape of a sphere, and she says she was captivated by the tea ceremony, so she is also trying her hand at making tea bowls. His bold application of chemicals is his forte, and I find his demeanor very appealing.
他方、抽象画家のティエリー・ルプルーストさんは、パリなどにアトリエを持ち製作されています。 After studying interior architecture, in addition to his painting career, he has worked in stage arts for operas and plays, and has also served as art director for films. Perhaps due to his background, his works, which resemble architectural blueprints with various lines and shapes intersecting in a free-flowing manner, have gained popularity in Europe.
This exhibition, subtitled "Scenes of the Winter Solstice," will present the latest works by the two artists, arriving from France during the winter solstice season. I'm really looking forward to seeing how their works resonate with each other. | Biography Biography | ▶ アンドシュ・プローデル Andoche Praudel Born in 1950 in Cubraque, Corrèze, France. In 1970, he majored in aesthetics and philosophy at the University of Paris Nanterre and obtained a doctorate. He initially created abstract paintings, but was captivated by the spirit of the Japanese tea ceremony and decided to pursue a career in ceramics. In 1999, I stayed in Kyoto for four months and wrote "Japanese Ceramics: From its Origins to 2000 Years," which was published in Paris. In 2006, I published a book about Raku ware in Paris titled "Etes vous RAKU?". 2010: Exhibited at the Sagawa Art Museum, Raku Kichizaemon Hall, in the exhibition "Kichizaemon X Under the Sky of Loubignac". ▶ ティエリー・ルプルースト Thierry Leproust Born in Prémery, France in 1948. She studied interior architecture at École Boulle and has won numerous design awards. He has a distinguished track record in painting (approximately 40 solo exhibitions) and stage design (theater, dance, opera). He served as art director for 17 feature films and designed over 60 sets in total. In recent years, he has ventured into sculpture in addition to painting, and has also created unique furniture pieces. In 2003, he was awarded the Chevalier (Knight) of the Order of Arts and Letters. |
