| Introduction Introduction |
I first met Andusch, a French ceramic artist, three years ago. As someone who was born without English, I remember being drawn to Andusch's personality, as he spoke broken Japanese with a gentle smile. His primary residence is in Paris, but he creates his work in a small, beautiful village in southern France called Loubignac. His works exude a unique atmosphere with their free forms and beautiful glazes, which is surely a result of Rubignac's rich clay and his gentle heart that deeply loves nature. This will be my first solo exhibition, and I will be showcasing my recent works, including tea bowls and flower vases, as well as hosting a tea ceremony. | Biography Biography | Born in 1946 in Cubraque, Corrèze, France. In 1970, he majored in aesthetics and philosophy at the University of Paris Nanterre, where he obtained a doctorate. After that, he worked as a painter. He initially created and exhibited abstract paintings, but was captivated by the spirit of the Japanese tea ceremony and decided to pursue a career in ceramics. In 1999, I stayed in Kyoto for four months and wrote "Japanese Ceramics: From its Origins to 2000 Years," which was published in Paris. Since then, he has held numerous solo exhibitions in France and various parts of Japan. In 2006, I published a book about Raku ware in Paris titled "Etes vous RAKU?". 2010: Exhibited at the Sagawa Art Museum, Raku Kichizaemon Hall, in the exhibition "Kichizaemon X Under the Sky of Loubignac". 2012: Exhibited at the International Association of Ceramics (IAC) exhibition at the Santa Fe Museum of Art, USA. |
