| Introduction Introduction |
I will be holding my third exhibition at Kakiden Gallery.
This exhibition will showcase white porcelain and green-glazed vessels, which we have been experimenting with in recent years.
The white porcelain pieces have glaze applied only to the inside of the vessel. The exterior is made of white porcelain clay, and ash and soot adhere to it during firing, resulting in variations in color. We create our pieces with a focus on a light, airy feel, emphasizing the absence of glaze.
The green-glazed pieces are dark green vessels with contrasting shades due to variations in the glaze's intensity. We conducted numerous tests to achieve a subdued color tone that would be easy to pair with food.
Regarding tea bowls, water pitchers, and sake vessels, we will be exhibiting a variety of works including unglazed stoneware, mottled Karatsu ware, painted Karatsu ware, and slipware. We hope you enjoy using it during this season of gentle breezes.
