| Biography Biography | ▶ Kiyoshi Asakura Asakura Kiyoshi Born in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture in 1965. 2014: 2014 Rice Bowl Grand Prix Exhibition, Oniki Rice Terraces Council Award 2018: Selected for the 11th Contemporary Tea Ceramics Exhibition 2019: Selected for the 8th Kikuchi Biennale Exhibition, "The Present State of Contemporary Ceramics"; Selected for the 7th Tobi Exhibition. 2020: Selected for the 67th Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition. Japan Crafts Association Regular Member ▶ KatsujiUwataki Uwataki Katsuji Born in 1941 in Iwayagawachi, Arita-cho, Saga Prefecture (the first period of the feudal domain's kiln), as the third son of Yokichi Kamitaki, owner of the Takiyama kiln. 1959: Graduated from Arita Technical High School, Ceramics Department. In 1973, he established his own kiln (Katsuyama Kiln) in Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture, and became independent. 1977: First time selected for the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition; 14th time selected in total. 1986: Judge for the Exhibition of New Traditional Crafts (Heisei 3, 11, 15) 1987: "Hoko Cloth Dyed Porcelain Bowl" receives an Excellence Award at the Traditional Crafts New Works Exhibition. 1994: The "Hoko Cloth Dyed Porcelain Vase" was purchased by the Imperial Household Agency. 2007 Chiba Prefecture Education Meritorious Service Award (Arts and Culture) In 2009, the Traditional Crafts Ceramics Division Exhibition awarded the Japan Crafts Association Prize for its "Pale Pink Cloth-Dyed Porcelain Vase." In 2021, the "Yaezakura Porcelain Vase" was purchased by the Imperial Household Agency. Japan Crafts Association Regular Member ▶ Zento Onomitsu Onomitsu Zento Born in 1983 Graduated from Chiba Prefectural Sawara High School in 2002. 2005: Studied under Mitsuhiko Ono In 2010, she began her career as an artist at the group exhibition "Three Porcelain Exhibition". 2022 Chiba Prefectural Exhibition: Chiba Prefectural Cultural Promotion Foundation Chairman's Award ▶ Ohara Kenji Ohara Kenji Born in 1958 in Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture. In 1998, I studied under Tetsurou Misaki at "Momosei Kiln" in Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture. In 2019, I established the workshop "Kibo Kiln" in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture. 2020 7th Ceramics Exhibition Selected 2022: 71st Chiba Prefectural Art Exhibition, Chiba Prefectural Art Association Award 2023: 10th Toubi Exhibition Audience Award Selected for the 71st Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, 2024. ▶ Norio Kamiya Kamiya Norio Born in 1940 in Mashiko Town, Tochigi Prefecture, as the fourth generation of a pottery family. 1963: Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Sculpture. 1967: Studied under Koichi Tamura In 1968, he was selected for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition for the first time, and has been selected numerous times since. 1999: Created the ceramic wall "Kasaga" for the Chiba Prefectural Government Building's main hall. 2003: Commemorative Award at the 50th Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition 2005: Founded the Touyoukai (Ceramics Leaf Society). Designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Chiba Prefecture in 2008. 2016 Pola Award for Traditional Culture 2026 Iron-Painted and Copper-Painted Norio Kamiya Ceramic Exhibition: Spring Breeze Ceramic Flowers (Chiba Prefectural Museum of Art) ▶ Kouji Sugimoto Sugimoto Kouji Born in Tokyo in 1967. Established in Sakura City in 2008. In 2017, I established the pottery studio Tuchinoko Kiln. ▶ Keita Suzuki Suzuki Keita Born in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture in 1985. Graduated from Yokohama Izumi Ceramics Academy in 2013. In 2021, the workshop relocated to Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture. ▶ Hiromi Noda Noda Hiromi Born in Tokyo in 1963. 1988: Graduated from Aichi Prefectural Ceramics High School, Painting Department. 1989: Studied pottery painting at a Tobe ware kiln. 2004: Moved workshop to Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture. 2025: First selection for the East Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition. ▶ Yasuhiko Hayashi Hayashi Yasuhiko Born in Kurashiki City Graduated from Waseda University, Faculty of Political Science and Economics. Worked as a commercial planner and copywriter at Hakuhodo. Visiting Researcher at the Institute of Lifestyle and Living. 1993: Began pottery as a hobby. 2003: Left the company and became independent, working as a ceramic artist and freelance commercial planner. 2010: Opened the Tsudanuma Pottery Class. ▶ Kaori Miyama Miyama Kaori Completed Master's Program in Arts and Sciences, Graduate School of Arts, Nihon University April 2012, K-CO-BO open Selected for the East Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition in 2019 (and won in 2021). Selected for the 2021 Kasama Ceramic Art Grand Prize Exhibition. 2023 Ceramics Exhibition Selected ▶ Naoko Yasuda Yasuda Naoko Born in Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture In 2006, he studied under Norio Kamiya . 2010: Selected for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition (and subsequently selected 8 times). In 2016, he built a kiln in Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture, and received an Encouragement Award at the East Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition. 2023 10th Ceramics Exhibition 14th Kakiemon Memorial Award ▶ Nobuyoshi Wakasa Wakasa Nobuyoshi Born in Tokyo in 1970. 1997: Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic Art Training School, Molding Department. In 2001, established an independent kiln in Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture. 2002: First selection for the 49th Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition. 2021: Encouragement Award, 61st East Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition 2024, 11th Toubi Exhibition, Japan Ceramic Art Association President's Award |
