| Introduction Introduction |
Around the time when the young leaves begin to change color. The cool copper surface gradually warms up from the body heat of your fingertips. The tin patterns applied to the surface of the vessel seem to quietly evoke the feeling of the changing seasons. This exhibition will primarily feature new flower vases. The subtitle, "Green Leaves and Body," was chosen to evoke the freshness associated with June, the month in which the event is held, and the image of the body of a flower vase standing tall, embracing life itself. The venue will be adorned with words of appreciation from Fumika Sato. Vivid words that capture and then bring closer the distance between people and things. We hope you enjoy our new endeavors. Yui Shakunaga 's flower vases are like planets far beyond this universe. When you arrange flowers, the vibrant life of the blossoms and leaves ignites within the rigid vase, changing the atmosphere and giving you a sense of connection to a world far, far away. That feeling is mine, but it's also open to many other people. I look forward to sharing this important space with you.

| Biography Biography | ▶ Yui Shakunaga Shakunaga Yui Born in 1981 in Tateyama Town, Toyama Prefecture, into a family that produces Etchu Seto ware pottery. Completed the Metalworking major and the Advanced Course in Industrial Design at Takaoka Junior College (now Toyama University). He worked in the prototype production department at Mikimoto Jewelry and later studied under Kunihiko Akiba, who became a modern master craftsman. Completed training at Kanazawa Utatsuyama Craft Workshop. Currently, he creates and exhibits metalwork, including vessels and reliefs, in Tateyama. ▷ Fumika Sato Sato Ayaka Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1985. His collections of haiku include "Seaweed Specimens," "You Have Eyes That Are Wide Open," "Chrysanthemums are Snow," and "Even Though the Voice Disappears." His edited works include "The Milky Way Galaxy Power Plant: A Guidebook to Modern Haiku Born After 1968," among others. The poet received the 29th Nakahara Chūya Prize for his poetry collection "The Hand That Passes." |
