Introduction
Introduction

If you drive east from Hakata Station for about 40 minutes, you will arrive in Sue Town.

The ancient Sue kiln that once stood in this area flourished from the mid-18th century during the Edo period as the official kiln for porcelain of the Fukuoka domain. Although it ceased operations in the mid-Meiji era, it was Moritoshi Tokusawa who built a kiln in this Sue area in 1972.

Moritoshi is a master craftsman who has established his own unique style in Korean Karatsu ware, and Mitsunori Tokuzawa, whom we are introducing today, is Moritoshi's eldest son.

Like his father, Mitsunori is a ceramic artist who creates Karatsu-style tea ceremony pottery, and his work is characterized by bold forms and beautiful glazing.

Furthermore, because she herself has sincerely studied the tea ceremony, the usability of her products is also excellent.

Now, in this exhibition, which will be held during the time of Bōshu (the beginning of rice planting), I will be presenting 70 of my latest works.

I would be grateful if you would take a look at it.
