| Introduction Introduction |
When I was little, my grandfather often told me that indigo dyeing was their family business. There were several large jars, about the height of an adult, left in the garden of the house.
The kiln was built 52 years ago. I felt that creating blue and white porcelain was the direction I should take from now on, and I believe there was something in my roots that connected with the allure of indigo dyeing.
I feel that by depicting wildflowers that I can easily find in my surroundings inside the vessel, I've been able to create pottery that is uniquely my own. This motif has been used in various styles, including polychrome, vermilion, verdigris, sepia, and more.
