皆様は茨城県というと何を思い浮かばれますか。 水戸黄門、納豆、偕楽園、筑波山、ネモフィラ、、、 私は茨城県というと(納豆も大好きなのですが)、笠間芸術の森公園を思い浮かべます。 緑豊かなこの公園には、茨城県の誇る陶芸美術館や、笠間工芸の丘、そして今回ご紹介する五味謙二さんが教鞭を振るう茨城県立 笠間陶芸大学校があります。
五味さんは、その笠間で懸命に作陶に挑む陶工です。 惜しまれつつも幕を閉じた『日本陶芸展』の最後の大賞受賞作家と言えばお分かりになる方も多いのではないでしょうか。
前回の弊廊での個展の際、私は五味作品の魅力を「うねるフォルム」と「かせた肌合い」と書きましたが、今回はこれらに「おっとりとした佇まい」を加えたいと思います。 本展ご案内状にと届いた上の作品は、じいっと拝見していると、不思議に心が和む魅力ある作品でした。
さて、弊廊で三回目となる本展では、最新作の茶碗、水指からオブジェまで約50点を発表致します。 実直なお人柄故、皆から愛される五味さん。 彼の笑顔に会いに笠間へ向かいたくなる春日の昼下がりがゆるりと過ぎていきます・・・。 I would be delighted if you would take a look.
