This time, we will be showcasing a collection of 30 dyed obi sashes, a folding screen, and interior works, all using different materials and employing various dyeing techniques, under the theme of "Elegance and Sophistication of Kyoto Colors."

Ei Tamamura

We are pleased to announce the solo exhibition "Meeting Kyoto Colors" by Ei Tamamura , a Kyoto-based dye artist with whom we have a close relationship, thanks to an introduction from Professor Haruzo Hayashiya. This will be our second solo exhibition with her, and it will feature recent works such as dyed obi sashes made from various materials and designs, as well as folding screens for use with a tea ceremony ceremonies.
I believe the charm of Ms. Tamamura's kimonos and dyed obi sashes lies in their vibrant colors and innovative compositions. The way she expresses dozens of diverse colors through dyeing—the encounters, overlaps, and transitions of these colors—is incredibly beautiful and soothes the viewer's eyes. I am very much looking forward to seeing what new Kyoto-style colors she will create.
Ms. Tamamura has a bright and lighthearted way of speaking. She plans to be at the gallery every day during the exhibition, so please feel free to take a look at the texture of the silk and we would be grateful for your feedback.
