| Introduction Introduction |
Five years after his death, the name of Kouki Ichijuu , the genius ceramic artist born in Aizu, is gradually becoming more widely known. Last year, "The Solitary Ceramic Artist: A Collection of Works" was published, and this year, the biography "Ceramic Artist Kouki Ichijuu Kouki Ichijuu The Flame of Life" was released. During that time, exhibitions were also held in Ishikawa, Fukushima, Miyagi, and Tokyo, and in July, NHK General TV broadcast a program about the artist and his works titled " Kouki Ichijuu Exhibition." The charm of Ichijo's pottery lies in its delicate carving technique, and this exhibition will feature over 100 pieces, including white and celadon tableware such as vases, water pitchers, incense burners, and incense boxes, as well as ceramic Buddhist statues, guardian lion-dogs, and arhats in prayer, and children's drawings depicting inner landscapes. Also, please join us for the lecture and social gathering "Talking about ceramic artist Kouki Ichijuu " on Monday, June 29th.
