Iwata Ruri is the third generation of Iwata Glass Craft, the grandson of Iwata Toshichi, who laid the foundation for modern Japanese glass art. His works possess a presence that rivals that of Western artists.

The works are divided into two types: sculptural and craftwork. The craftwork is characterized by its thick walls and fluidity, but the tea bowls and sake cups are surprisingly comfortable to hold when you actually use them.

This exhibition features bowls, vases, medium-sized bowls, sake cups, and glasses made using the blown glass technique, with colored glass such as red or white beads, white lines, and black stripes placed on top of clear glass. However, the vases that combine clear and black glass are works created using Iwata's unique rope-stacking technique.

In addition, one sculptural work created using the slip casting technique will be exhibited.

The appeal of Iwata's craftwork lies in his use of single colors such as red, white, and black, and his creative approach of placing red and white balls on top is truly delightful.
