For the past year, I've been working in Goto, Nagasaki. I'm so happy to be able to work with the blue ocean right in front of me!
Maki Nakahara lives in Nagasaki, and we often work together in Goto. That's why we've decided to have a joint exhibition at Kakiden.
Takashi Nakazato
On a day in Yayoi (March) when the mountain cherry blossoms in Karatsu were just beginning to bloom, I visited Ryuta Kiln. It was wonderful to reunite with Takashi Nakazato , his son Taigame, and his son Kenta, and seeing their beaming smiles filled me with happiness as well. At that moment, Kenta's child was also being held happily by his grandmother, and it was heartwarming to see all four generations getting along so well and happily. We are deeply grateful to Ryuta Kiln for their continued support, following their assistance with the Kenta Exhibition at the end of April.
Now, our gallery is hosting a Takashi Nakazato exhibition for the first time in three and a half years, and it will be the first joint exhibition in Japan with Maki Nakahara a ceramic artist from Nagasaki Prefecture (the left side of the image above is Takashi's work, and the right side is Nakahara's work). Ms. Nakahara creates works using white porcelain and celadon, and her modern forms have made her very popular. This exhibition will showcase the latest works by the two artists, focusing on tableware that is exceptionally comfortable to use. I would be grateful if you would take a look at it.

| Biography Biography | ▶ Takashi Nakazato Born in Karatsu in 1937 as the fifth son of Nakazato Mu'an (the twelfth Tarouemon Nakazato ). 1974: Established Ryuta Kiln 1984: Japan Ceramic Society Award Around this time, he began creating pottery and holding solo exhibitions in various parts of the world. 2021 " Takashi Nakazato A Ceramic Traveler" (Tomo Museum of Art / Tokyo) ▶ Maki Nakahara 1995: Graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design, Faculty of Art, Department of Design. ~1998: Worked at STUDIO80 2001: Graduated from the short-term training course in pottery wheel at Saga Prefectural Arita Ceramic College. ~2007: Studied under Mr. Kazuharu Terui of "Gakugama" pottery studio. 2008: Ichida Pottery Studio established. |
