師も走る寒い一日、小池頌子さんのご自宅兼工房を訪ねました。 その瀟洒で素敵な白壁の建物は、東京藝術大学在学中にご主人である陶芸家の川﨑 毅さんと一緒に建てられたとの事。 庭には美しい草花や木々が茂り、壁にかかるセンスの良い品々に流石とうなりました。
さて、弊廊で初個展となる本展では最新作など50点を発表致します。 彼女は、フェルメールの青いターバンの娘や、イランのモスクの青色に魅せられたとの事で、これまで青色を用いた作品を手がけてきました。 そのモチーフは貝や花であり、大作から用の器まで(時には茶陶も)一眼で小池作品とわかる存在感で、愛陶家の心に響く作品を懸命に作って来られました。 私も小池茶碗と水指を愛用しており、本展は、弊廊にとっても念願の展覧会です。
川﨑さんの香り高き珈琲を楽しみつつ、小池さんが「見てみて!」と笑顔で持って来られたのは、このご自宅を建てた時の写真と日記。 詳細に記された日記に目を丸くし、この家と共に育まれてきた素敵な小池家の歴史が手に取るようにわかりました。 私の憧れの心豊かなご夫妻です。
小池家の庭にある立派な木蓮が花を咲かせるにはまだ少し早い、大寒の候ですが、ご清覧頂ければ嬉しいです。
