At the end of 2021, I became the owner of Zezeyaki Pottery Co., Ltd. KagerouenI have taken over the management of (Kagerouen) from the previous head of the family. Alongside managing a company related to culture and the arts, I was fortunate to have this opportunity through my many years of experience practicing the Enshu-ryu school of tea ceremony and the various support I received from people in the business world.
Zeze ware is a type of pottery that was established in the early Edo period by the Zeze domain on the shores of Lake Biwa, under the guidance of Kobori Enshu, who was the tea ceremony instructor for the Shogun's family.
Through managing Zeze ware, we hope to contribute to world peace by showcasing Japan's world-renowned diversity and the spirit of hospitality that allows us to get along with anyone, as well as a cultural, artistic, and lifestyle based on the traditions and aesthetics of the tea ceremony.

| Biography Biography | ▶Zeze-yaki One of the seven kilns of Enshu. In the early Edo period, the kiln in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, began producing pottery based on the aesthetic sensibilities of Kobori Enshu, serving the Shogun's family as an "official kiln." It has overcome various hardships to reach its present state. ▶Kageroen (Mirage Garden) A local philanthropist, regretting the closure of the Zeze ware kilns, opened this kiln in 1919 (Taisho 8), and it remains the only existing Zeze ware pottery studio. Currently, they produce a variety of ceramics, including overglaze enamel and underglaze blue, based on traditional techniques, primarily using Zeze glaze.
