Wada is a 33-year-old ceramic artist born in Chiba Prefecture in 1978. I first noticed his work around 2007, when he won the Japan Crafts Association Award at the 35th New Ceramics Exhibition of the Japan Crafts Association. Then, in 2009, he received an Encouragement Award at the 3rd Kikuchi Biennale, the Ikeda Masuo Award at the 20th Japan Ceramics Exhibition in the same year, and in 2010, he received the 50th Anniversary Award at the 50th East Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, attracting considerable attention as a leading figure among young ceramic artists. His pure white porcelain and solid, structured sculptural skills remain unwavering, and his presence deepens year after year. Despite the impact of the Great East Japan Earthquake, he is holding a solo exhibition. I eagerly anticipate what kind of works he will present. Object" Masuo Ikeda Award 2010: 50th East Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, White Porcelain "Box", 50th Anniversary Award Selected for the 10th Oita Asian Sculpture Exhibition The Imperial Household Agency has purchased a white utensil, a "dai/dai". Perspectives on Contemporary Crafts: On the Tea Ceremony (The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, Crafts Gallery) Selected for the 24th UBE Biennale, Contemporary Japanese Sculpture Exhibition (required to create an actual sculpture). 2011: Selected for the 4th Kikuchi Biennale.
