染織というと皆様はどんな事をイメージされますでしょうか。 今回、ご紹介する鈴木一弘さんによると、染織は染めた裂(きれ)、織った裂、繍った裂、編んだ裂の四つに分類されるそうです。
一弘さんは、この四分類によると、染めた裂である"Old Japanese printed fabric"(ほとんどがインド製)、織った裂である"Famous textiles"(400 年程前の中国から舶載された染織品)、繍った裂である"Takeyamachi"の収集家、研究者、そして復原と創作者として、その名を馳せています。
お祖父様の時代から三代に亘り裂の研究を重ね、今は、これからの復原したデザインの裂地を用いて、帛紗、数寄屋袋、竹屋町掛け軸など、多彩な作品を生み出しています。 そして、お父様、一(はじめ)さんのご遺志を立派に引き継がれ、時代裂の研究と文化発信に邁進しておられます。
さて、弊廊で初個展となる本展では、最新作の竹屋町額装など50点余を発表します。 優しい笑顔を絶やさない一弘さんも会期中、ご在廊下さいます。 どうしてこの様な素敵なデザインが生み出されたのか、往時の中国やインドに思いを馳せてみてはいかがでしょう。 新型コロナウイルスでご案内も憚れ、誠に恐縮です。 どうぞご自愛専一にお過ごし下さいませ。

| Biography Biography | Kazuhiro Suzuki Suzuki Kazuhiro Born in 1950 in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City (current address). 平成12年 都美術工芸展 入選 2002: Received the 17th Silk Museum Award. In 2006, I participated as editor-in-chief in the publication of "Dictionary of Famous Textiles." Solo exhibitions held at Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store and Matsuzakaya Nagoya Main Store in 2011. In 2015, the sleeves of the "Who's Sleeve" screen and the celadon vase with inlaid fabric were donated to the National Palace Museum in Taiwan. In 2019, I gave a lecture at San Francisco State University entitled "The Age of Discovery: What World Trade Brought to the Tea Ceremony." Appeared on NHK's "Historical Secrets Historia: What Does the Mysterious Teacup Tell Us?" in 2020. |
