Happy New Year! Shop Owner Takashi Yasuda

January 1, 2020 (Wed)

happy new year.

We celebrated our first New Year's Day in the Reiwa era.

The air in Shinjuku this morning is crisp and cold, but very pleasant, and I also love the beautiful sound of the word "Reiwa," so I'm in a great mood.

Now, thank you all so much for your support last year.

To our customers, artists, academics, business partners, and everyone involved with our gallery, we express our deepest gratitude for your kind consideration.

Thanks to everyone's support, our gallery was able to safely welcome the second year of the Reiwa era.

I am filled with gratitude.

Our gallery will open this year on January 7th (Tuesday) with the "Fumio Tsuji & Yoshitani Inazumi Two-Person Exhibition."

This is a joint exhibition featuring abstract paintings by Ms. Tsuji and pottery by Mr. Inazumi, a promising ceramic artist from Kutani.

Yesterday, on New Year's Eve, I went to Mr. Tsuji's place and picked up the paintings that will be submitted for the exhibition.

Whenever I see his smile, my heart is always warmed.

Fumio's father is the renowned ceramic artist, Kiyoharu Tsuji.

Perhaps because our parents were close friends, I feel a strange sense of nostalgia whenever I enter Tsuji Seimei Pottery Studio.

Standing in the kiln area, I felt as if I could hear the laughter of everyone from long ago.

This year, our gallery aims to launch a mobile-friendly website, implement online payment via our homepage, and establish an Instagram presence as soon as possible.

We will strive to make your adult stroll through Shinjuku even more enjoyable.

We are still inexperienced shop owners and a naive gallery, but we would be grateful for your continued guidance and support this year.

Personally, last year I suffered from three illnesses for the first time in my life, which was very difficult, so this year I want to prioritize my health and get through it safely.

I sincerely hope that 2020 will be a brighter and more enjoyable year for everyone.
