My interest in the world of the tea ceremony began five years ago with my first solo exhibition at Kakiden Gallery. Since then, as I've learned through practice how tea ceremony utensils are handled, my perspective on tea ceremony tools, especially tea bowls, which had previously been just a means of self-expression, has gradually changed.
"How to help you enjoy tea to the fullest."
However, I still find myself wavering between what a tool should be and how it should be used for expression. Is it a spirit of hospitality, or is it the ego of a writer?
As a stepping stone towards reaching the pinnacle of achieving both, I will, with all due respect, honestly reveal my current lack of self-control. In addition to my traditional porcelain works, I will also be presenting ceramic tea bowls, which I have created for the first time in 10 years. I would be grateful if you would take a look.

| Biography Biography | Born in 1976 in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture. 1999: Graduated from Yokohama City University, Faculty of Commerce. Joined Pasona Inc. (Left in March 2004). In 2005, he completed the Molding Department at Kyoto Prefectural Advanced Technical School for Ceramics, and studied under Yuichi Ikai. Established in 2007 in Kokubunji City, Tokyo. 2013: 53rd East Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, Mitsukoshi Isetan Award 60th Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, Japan Crafts Association Encouragement Award 5th Kikuchi Biennale Encouragement Award Special Prize and Ibaraki Prefectural Museum of Ceramic Art Prize at the 22nd Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition 1st Toubi Exhibition: Excellence Award & Sapporo Interior Aqua Award 2017: Special Jury Prize, 11th International Ceramics Exhibition Mino (Selected by: Sou Fujimoto) |
