Did any of you watch the historical drama "Dokuganryu Masamune"?

While I was interested in Date Masamune, I was captivated by Shintaro Katsu's masterful portrayal of Taiko Hideyoshi.

I was particularly thrilled by the episode about the "Wagtail's Signature Seal."

The person we're introducing today, Naoto Yano from Karatsu, is a promising young potter who lives near the intersection known as the "Date Masamune Camp Site."

Nagoya Castle, built by Hideyoshi for his invasion of Korea, is also nearby, and it is said that in the past, various feudal lords from all over Japan had their residences in this area.

On a certain day in November, I visited Yano Pottery Studio and celebrated our long-awaited reunion.

They recently remodeled the climbing kiln, and it's a charming kiln site where birds sing, adorable cats roam freely amidst the greenery, and cute cats roam around as if they own the place.

Mr. Yano passionately explains that his longing for Okukorai tea bowls, a type of old Karatsu ware, has grown stronger recently, and his affection for his hometown has also increased.

He's a very handsome young man with bright, sparkling eyes that shine in the sunlight over Nagoya Bay below.

I was delighted to see the latest piece at the pottery studio; the glaze was beautiful, and the texture of the clay around the base was superb.

This exhibition, the second of its kind at our gallery, will feature approximately 150 of the latest works, including tea ceremony ceramics, tableware, and sake vessels.

To all pottery enthusiasts, we would be grateful if you would offer your frank guidance to the young potter who is working diligently to breathe new life into the ancient Karatsu style.

Now, what do you think Lord Masamune, our neighbor, would say if he were to enjoy a cup of tea from a Yano tea bowl?

I can just picture the look of pure delight on their face...
