Introduction
Introduction

Mr. Kato is a highly skilled ceramic artist who continues to create pottery, primarily focusing on the kohiki style, in Anjo City, Aichi Prefecture.

That particular kohiki ware had a subtle reddish tint compared to what we typically imagine, and I felt it had a soft and gentle style.

Recently, he has been captivated by Kawakita Handeiko's famous powder-glazed tea bowl "Snowy Dawn," and is now striving to create a powder-glazed tea bowl that is whiter than Handeiko's previous works, aiming for an even higher goal.

In this exhibition, we will be showcasing approximately 80 pieces in total, including this latest work of kohiki ware, several pieces of hikidashi kuro ware, and new Iga ware pieces that exhibit a glassy glaze and crimson color, produced in an anagama kiln where red pine was fired for a week.

Mr. Kato has a deep love for his hometown of Mikawa and is a person of sincere character.

They will be at the venue every day, so please feel free to pick up a copy and give us your feedback.
