| Biography Biography | □ Hiro Ajiki Hiro Ajiki Born in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture in 1948. 1969: Dropped out of Musashino Art University, Department of Oil Painting. From 1971 to 1973, I traveled through India, Europe, and Africa. 1987: Won the Grand Prize at the Tabe Museum of Art's "Tea Ceremony Art Exhibition" for its salt-glazed water container. 1996: Received a Special Award from Grand Master Hounsai Sen Soshitsu at the 4th Tanko Biennale, Tea Ceremony Art Exhibition. 2002: Exhibited and acquired for the "100 Years of Contemporary Ceramics" exhibition, commemorating the opening of the Gifu Museum of Modern Ceramics. 2005: The Metropolitan Museum of Art (NY) exhibited and acquired the Basara tea bowl. 2011: Exhibition of Tea Bowls with Paintings, Kakiden Gallery 2013 "Black Teacups x 65" Exhibition: A Universe in the Palm of Your Hand, Kakiden Gallery Solo exhibition featuring tea bowls at J. | special tea party Tea Party | ■Announcement of "Black-Style Tea Ceremony" February 27th (Wed) [Fully Booked] It's still spring, but the wind is chilly... I hope you are in good health. The day I decided to make this tea ceremony "black-themed," I received a call from the taiko drummer, Masanosuke Okura, as if by chance, saying, "Hiro-san, let's hang out after a long time..." And so, we hastily arranged a collaboration between the drum and tea. I'm looking forward to seeing how things unfold on the day itself, given the quick wit involved. I recall a tea ceremony held seven or eight years ago at a certain residence in Naito-Shinjuku, with Mr. Hayashiya Seizo as the main guest, featuring a drum... We look forward to your visit.
