| Biography Biography | Raised in Karatsu, he traveled to the United States alone at the age of 16 and spent the rest of his life there. Inspired by Japan's unique food culture, she returned to her hometown after graduating from university and studied pottery under her father, Takashi Nakazato. Beginning with a joint exhibition with her child in Tokyo in 2000, she has since held numerous solo exhibitions throughout Japan and the United States. In 2007, she established her own workshop, monohanako, in her hometown of Karatsu. Monohanako West was established in Maine, USA in 2010. Currently, I'm alternating between Karatsu and Main for six months each while creating pottery. |
