One afternoon, I visited Mr. Tsuchihira in my beloved Karatsu. Tsuchihira Kiln lived up to its reputation as a wonderful place, and I enjoyed a delicious cup of tea in a simple, rustic teahouse-style room at the back of the kiln. I think the appeal of Tsuchihira's work lies in its beautiful glaze and firing characteristics, and I'm particularly impressed by the unconventional and intriguing nature of his latest piece, which features a "boar" taking flight on the inside. Because he himself enjoys the tea ceremony, he can perceive the essence of tea in that tea bowl, and because he himself enjoys sake, the sake he drinks from that sake cup tastes truly delicious. This exhibition, the second at our gallery, is a joint exhibition with Asa Shimizu, a promising female painter whose work is characterized by beautiful shading and color. Ms. Shimizu is a modest abstract painter, both in spirit and appearance, whose work has been featured in a series of advertisements for Tokyu Corporation.

| Biography Biography | Fujinoki Dohei Born in Niigata Prefecture in 1949. In 1975, he studied under Mr. Hiroshi Ohashi in Karatsu. In 1978, he studied under Yoshiemon Kato in Mino Province. In 1980, Tsuchihira Kiln was established in Karatsu City. Shimizu Tomo Born in Tsukiji, Tokyo in 1983. 1992: Began painting in oils. Joined an advertising agency in 2008. Started working as a freelancer in 2016. |

We will be holding a "Minor Cold Tea Ceremony" in the tea room above the Kakiden Gallery, with Mr. Tsuchihira Fujinoki serving as the host.
