Professor Matsunosuke Nishiyama, Professor Emeritus of Tokyo University of Education, dedicated the latter half of his life to the research and creation of tea scoops. He published renowned works such as "One Hundred Selected Tea Scoops" and "Making Tea Scoops," while simultaneously immersing himself in tea scoop making, collecting beautiful bamboo from various regions, including historically significant bamboo. And as you know, he left behind many famous fishing ladles.
Last February, we exhibited some of the tea scoops that the teacher kept with him until the very end, and it was very well received. This year marks the seventh anniversary of the teacher's passing. Therefore, we have re-selected the last works left behind by the professor and decided to exhibit them at the Kakiden Gallery.
If you wish, I can prepare the box and write the inscription on it myself. This is your last chance, so I would be grateful if you would take the time to review it.

| Biography Biography | Born in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture in 1912 (Meiji 45). Graduated from Tokyo University of Literature and Science in 1940 and became an assistant professor. 1949 Professor, Tokyo Higher Normal School In 1961, he received a Doctor of Literature degree for his work "Studies on the Head of the School." Professor, Tokyo University of Education, 1964 In 1976, he retired from Tokyo University of Education and became a professor at Seijo University. Received the Order of the Rising Sun, Third Class in 1985. Received the Tokyo Metropolitan Cultural Award in 1986. He passed away in 2012 at the age of 99. |
