Mr. Osumi relentlessly hammers metal plates, and Mr. Maeda relentlessly layers colors; both are wonderful artists who have earned high praise not only in Japan but throughout the world. I, though inexperienced, was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to connect with these two individuals whom I deeply respect, thanks to Professor Seizo Hayashiya, and I cherish and use their wonderful works in my daily tea ceremony practice. Recently, Professor Osumi's artwork has become increasingly refined, and his passion for the tea ceremony has deepened. Last winter, he even performed a tea ceremony at the Nezu Museum. Professor Maeda's skills in tea ceremony ceramics have continued to improve, and he has even opened a stylish gallery called the "Porcelain Research Institute" in Yokohama.
What these two have in common is a passionate desire to pass on and celebrate the beautiful and noble craftsmanship and tea ceremony to future generations, and I strongly sympathize with that sentiment. I would be delighted if you would take a look.

| Biography Biography | Yukie Oosumi [Metalwork] Born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1945. 1969: Graduated from the Department of Art Studies, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. He studied under Kashima Ichitani, Sekiya Shiro, and Katsura Moriyuki. 1987: 34th Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, Japan Crafts Association President's Award 1991 (Heisei 3): 4th MOA Mokichi Okada Award, Excellence Award Received the Purple Ribbon Medal in 2010. 2015: Certified as a holder of important intangible cultural property (metal hammering) Awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette in 2017. Masahiro Maeda [Ceramics] Born in 1948 in Kumihama-cho, Kyoto Prefecture. 1975: Completed graduate studies in ceramics at the Tokyo University of the Arts. 2005: Award of Excellence at the 1st Kikuchi Biennale 2009: 56th Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, Japan Crafts Association President's Award 2010: 17th MOA Mokichi Okada Award, MOA Museum of Art Award 2011 Japan Ceramic Society Award 2015: The 6th Annual Award for Creating Tradition 2017: 37th Pola Traditional Culture Award, Excellence Award |

| special tea party Tea Party | ■Tea Ceremony on the Beginning of Winter: November 13th (Tue) We will be holding a "Ritto Tea Ceremony" in the tea room above the Kakiden Gallery, with Ms. Yukie Oosumi and Mr. Masahiro Maeda serving as the tea masters. Beginners who have never participated in a tea ceremony before are more than welcome, so please feel free to come and enjoy a brief moment of tea. • Date and Time: Tuesday, November 13th, two seats available at 11:00 and 13:00. • Host Yukie Oosumi × Masahiro Maeda • Location: Shinjuku Kyo-kaiseki Kakiden (Yasuyo Building, 3-37-11 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) Tea ceremony room "Zangetsu (9th floor)", light meal room "Kokin Salon (6th floor)", reception and donation area "An'yo Hall (7th floor)" *Please arrive 15 minutes before your seat is to be seated.
