皆様ご存知の通りであるが千家十職と呼ばれる職方十人がおられる。 その中に袋師土田家がある。 土田家は利休の袋物師であった亀岡家の三代目宗理から、宗旦より授かった「飯後軒」の軸など家業秘伝一切を伝授された家柄である。 当主名を半四郎、隠居名が友湖である。今回は十三代当主の兄、半四郎さんとその御舎弟の陶芸家、健さんで兄弟展をされる事となった。 兄弟展のテーマは土田家の家紋「竹と笹」である。 正に伝統の継承に相応しいテーマである。 土田御兄弟が生まれ育たれた環境の中で培われた精神性や受け継がれてきた技は守りつつ、新たな感性で時代にあったものを作りだし、後世につなげる。 それが伝統となり生き続けていくのだと思うのである。 土田家の伝統は家業である裂を使ったものと、土から新たに生まれてきたものとに姿を変えて、新たに歩み始めている。柿傳ギャラリーでそれらが披露されることとなったのだ。 お二人、各々の作品はもちろんのこと、健さんの茶入に半四郎さんの仕覆、健さんの作品に半四郎さんの絵付けされた鉢、半四郎さんがひいた茶盌などコラボ作品もある。 日本文化が生活の中から消えていくこの時代にお二人の作品をご覧頂き、再考頂ける手がかりにして頂ければと思うのだ。 市中の山居とも言える文化のオアシス柿傳ギャラリーでごゆっくりとご覧頂きたい。 小堀亮敬 (大徳寺 孤篷庵 十九世住職) |
| Biography Biography | □土田半四郎 Tsuchida Hanshiro Born in Kyoto in 1968 as the eldest son of the twelfth generation Tsuchida Yuko. 1991: Graduated from Kyoto Junior College of Art, Advanced Course in Film Studies. In 2014, he inherited the family business as the 13th generation bag maker, Yuko Tsuchida Hanshiro. □土田 健 Tsuchida Takeshi Born in Kyoto in 1972 as the second son of the twelfth generation Tsuchida Yuko. In 2007, the "Choyuki Kiln" was established in Oisawa, at the foot of Mt. Gassan. 平成26年 北村美術館 木下館長が『大井沢焼』と命名 |
