| Introduction Introduction |
Zenzou Fukushima was born into a family that has been producing Koishiwara ware since the Keicho era, and later entered the world of pottery. Since being selected for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition in 1988, he has been selected 19 times, and in 2003, he received the Japan Crafts Association President's Award at the 50th exhibition. His unique style, which is based on tradition but highly accomplished, has been highly praised, and the following year he also received the Mokichi Okada Award of Excellence from the MOA Museum of Art. I am very much looking forward to seeing what kind of works will be on display at the Kakiden Gallery, where you will be holding your first solo exhibition.
