| Introduction Introduction |
When I was 19, I became disgusted with my indifferent and unconstructive life, fell ill, and in order to recover, I transformed my childhood passion for collecting insects into energy to live, and since then I have occasionally used stag beetles as a theme. Furthermore, within this stag beetle theme, there is a hidden paradox and innocence. I used the postcard with the stag beetle drawing on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of my father Seimei Tsuji 's death, when his works were exhibited again at the National Museum of Modern Art's Craft Gallery. At the same time, I wanted to convey to my father in heaven, in a self-serving way, that I, too, am drawing without forgetting nature even amidst the mundane world of society. These items are available exclusively online at the Kakiden Gallery, and we would be delighted if you would take a look. Fumio Tsuji |
