Introduction
Introduction

At first glance, Tsuchihira's works are undeniably Karatsu ware, but they also possess a modern flair. Combined with his kind and gentle personality, they continue to captivate many pottery enthusiasts.

This will be the first ever exhibition at our gallery featuring Tsuchihira, and it will be a joint exhibition with Asa Shimizu, a young female painter with whom he has a close relationship.

Shimizu is a rising abstract painter whose work often features the sky, the sun, and celestial maidens as motifs, and whose work has recently been featured in a series of advertisements for Tokyu Corporation.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the works of these two artists, who are from different generations and genders, will resonate with each other—the ceramics and the colors.
