| Introduction Introduction |
The celadon pottery I've been working with for so long is a genre of ceramics. What can be expressed through pottery, once we break free from those constraints? I approach the material with vague clues like "it's something like this," but I might be getting carried away by those vague ideas. Each time, I feel like I'm being radically (fundamentally) asked what I'm trying to do with this material. "Having come this far, is it all over...? I'm waiting for a great work to emerge, one that sprouts straight up from the ground like a bamboo shoot," said Mr. Haruzo Hayashiya the other day, but what will he say about the diagonal lattice work? We would like to invite you to take a look.
