Introduction
Introduction

Two years ago, an exhibition by Ms. Makiko Nishibayashi was held at a gallery in Ochanomizu.

I was surprised to see a powerful and imposing elephant depicted in the painting, one that seemed even more courageous than a man.

Afterward, they held an exhibition at the Nagano Tokyu Department Store, which resonated with a great many people.

This past New Year's, I invited Mr. Nishibayashi to attend a tea ceremony hosted by Mr. Seizo Hayashiya at Kakiden in Shinjuku.

When I introduced them to Takashi Yasuda of our gallery at that time, it happened that a space had opened up this term, so the exhibition was quickly arranged, and I was very happy to accept, truly like "footsteps in an empty valley."

Then, I was asked to participate as a sponsor and exhibit a small portion of the event, so I agreed to go along with it.

Ms. Nishibayashi specializes in classical Chinese literature, and her spirit has been honed by Confucianism and Lao-Tzu's philosophy. Her gentle and kind personality is like that of a Taoist priest embodying the virtue of Kun, and this is reflected in her paintings, creating her own unique world. She is one of the rare female artists of today.

I would be grateful if you would take the time to review it and offer your feedback.
