A joint exhibition by Yuko Sugiura and Yasumasu Sugiura will be held.

While Yasumasa's densely packed floral designs are a familiar style, I visited his pottery studio in Manazuru to see how Yuko's colored porcelain had transformed.

I was worried because he had been quite critical of my previous works.

My worries were completely dispelled. The relationship between the shape and the painting, which I had been concerned about, was integrated, and flowers and fruits were refreshingly depicted on the sculptural vessels, resulting in many pieces that touched my heart.

I was delighted to see a new frontier in her porcelain paintings and set off on my journey home.
