The names of these ceramic pieces are the names of rooms in "Kurawanka," a local cuisine restaurant run by a sister company of our gallery.

Kurawanka opened on October 18, 1976, 40 years ago, in this location as a place where sake lovers and pottery enthusiasts could enjoy delicious local sake and regional cuisine from all over Japan. We are deeply grateful to all of you for your patronage, which has allowed Kurawanka to continue its business for the past 40 years.

(Kurawanka's website isHereSo please take a look.

Now, in commemoration of Kurawanka's 40th anniversary, we will be holding a group exhibition titled "Revival Kurawanka Tableware Exhibition."

"Kurawan-kai" refers to a group exhibition of tableware that used to be held at the old Kakiden Gallery (which was in the same building as Kurawanka). Popular artists, including some who are now Living National Treasures, would gather there, bring their own pieces to Kurawanka, and create a lively atmosphere.

This time, we are reviving the "Kurawan-kai" event in the Heisei era, and will be exhibiting a selection of exquisite tableware from popular artists who I have the pleasure of working with.

Furthermore, in gratitude for 40 years of support, we will be offering special discounts at both Kurawanka and Kakiden Gallery as described above. We sincerely look forward to your visit.
