| Introduction Introduction |
Yoshiko Mihara is a female ceramic artist who diligently creates objects, tableware, and other items with bird and forest themes. The modern and stylish Mihara Workshop is located near Tamatsukuri Onsen, a famous hot spring resort that Shimane Prefecture is proud of.
Now, for our gallery's third exhibition in two years, titled "Walking in the Forest," we will be presenting our latest owl series. Up until now, the artist has gained popularity with bird figurines and tea bowls with a white slip glaze, but this new owl is also a recommended item with a wonderfully whimsical and laid-back expression that will soothe your edgy heart.
Yoshiko's husband is Ken Mihara, a popular ceramic artist who is active on the world stage. Ken will also be exhibiting a small number of his works, including tea bowls, to add to the beauty of his beloved wife's exhibition. The other day, I visited the Mihara couple's workshop for a meeting about this exhibition, and they are such a kind and wonderful couple that I strongly felt that I want to be like them.
In addition to adorable owl figurines like the one pictured, we will also be unveiling new tea bowls and tableware. I apologize for bothering you during this busy December season, but I would be grateful if you could take a look.
