Introduction
Introduction

Mr. Nakamura's workshop is located in Makomanai, the last stop on the Sapporo Municipal Subway line.

His most representative works are his snowfield series, which depicts the beautiful snowscapes of the northern lands and has become increasingly refined in recent years.

In recent years, he has won numerous awards and selections in public exhibitions, so many pottery enthusiasts will likely remember him.

Now, in this exhibition, "A World of Snow," which is the first at our gallery in two years, I will be presenting my latest work, a painting of a winter forest.

Up until now, Nakamura has depicted a "horizontal" world of snow in his "Snowfield" works, but in this brand new "Forest" work, he has expressed a "vertical" world of snow.

I absolutely love winter in Hokkaido, and I particularly enjoyed this collection of works depicting refreshing forests against the backdrop of the frozen northern landscape, as well as the tea bowls with their delicate, snow-covered scenery.

November 22nd, the opening day of this exhibition, is also "Shōsetsu" (Minor Snow) according to the calendar.

I'm also looking forward to seeing what kind of snow falls at the Kakiden Gallery.
