Introduction
Introduction

"Enjoying oneself" is a state of calm, and therefore a very important emotion for the world and society.

Wisdom to avoid directing aggressive emotions, which arise from stress, towards others or even oneself. Enjoying a balanced range of emotions through serendipity (the ability to accidentally discover unexpected things) found in colors and wrinkles.

I enjoy living my life interacting with people and living creatures in various places such as parks, rural areas, and urban areas, so my artwork tends to be unconsciously positive.

I remember the excitement I felt as a child when the climbing kiln at Tsuji Pottery Studio was fired up, and how I calmed down as the kiln cooled. I was captivated and thrilled when the translucent blue-green natural glaze, known as "bidoro," adhered to the Shigaraki sake cup in my father's hands once again. I project these childhood memories into my colors as I create works for the future.

Fumio Tsuji

We will be holding a joint exhibition featuring Fumio Tsuji , who paints his inner landscapes in soft abstract paintings, and Kakoku Inazumi , a female ceramic artist who creates charmingly decorated pottery.

I am very much looking forward to seeing how Ms. Tsuji's warm and ephemeral paintings and Ms. Inazumi's lovely and exotic pottery resonate with each other in our gallery.

This is our gallery's first joint exhibition featuring both paintings and ceramics. We invite you to come and see it.

*Smoltization = Silvering
- Salmon, trout, and other fish turn silver to adapt to water pressure when migrating from rivers to the sea. This also reduces their aggression.
- Roman glass and other materials turn silver when buried in the ground. The longer they remain buried, the more layers of silver accumulate, resulting in a more complex and beautiful reflection of light.
