Mr. Kawaguchi, now over seventy years old, will be holding his first solo exhibition. He has dedicated many years to the study of various glazes, and his profound knowledge has earned him the respect of many ceramic artists.

It has been 25 years since Mr. Kawaguchi embarked on the path of making pottery, and I have recently been deeply impressed by his underglaze painting work, which I have used in tea ceremonies. When I suggested that he hold his first solo exhibition at the newly renovated Kakiden Gallery, Mr. Kawaguchi was delighted and has been diligently working on it since last year. I am sure that he has produced some wonderful works, mainly tableware, so I encourage everyone to come and see them.

Thanks to the kind introduction of Professor Haruzo Hayashiya, I am honored to be able to hold my first pottery exhibition since turning 70 at the prestigious and traditional Kakiden Gallery. Fascinated by liquid pigments, I have been working with underglaze painting techniques for over 25 years. Born in the Arita ware region, I have spent most of my life at research institutions and ceramics colleges, diligently pursuing my craft under the guidance of Professor Kakiemon. Now, with great apprehension, I have accepted the generous offer from Kakiden Gallery and Takashi Yasuda.
