Based on the two processes of wood preparation and lacquering, lacquer artist Jihei Murase creates works aiming for a world of unpretentious and free lacquer art. This exhibition will feature approximately 70 pieces, including new works, such as tea ceremony utensils like tea sets, hearth frames, and confectionery containers, as well as tableware perfect for everyday use, such as chestnut trays and bowls. In addition, original tea baskets made by Kamon Kobo under Murase's supervision and popular cypress wood kagami mochi (see photo) are perfect for New Year's decorations.
