| Introduction Introduction |
Today, we'd like to introduce Kiminori Oota , who beautifully and meticulously paints wildflowers on porcelain. Mr. Ota's kiln is located in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, the birthplace of Ieyasu. In addition to his work as a ceramic artist, he is also a professor in the ceramics department at Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts, teaching day and night, and serves as a permanent executive member of the Tokai branch of the Japan Crafts Association, leading a very busy life. Now, for this solo exhibition, my first at our gallery in three years, I will be presenting my latest works of blue and white porcelain. The vessel, adorned with varying shades of cobalt blue and renowned brushwork depicting flowers and plants, and further enhanced with the slip-trailing technique, will surely shine beautifully. In English, underglaze blue porcelain is called "blue and white," and in Chinese, it's called "qinghua." We would be delighted if you could come and see Kiminori Oota new exhibition at Aohana.
