| Introduction Introduction |
Just as people meet each other, that iron also met people, wind, and water, and eventually made its way to the riverbank. I hope you enjoy the resonance of time that lingers within the iron fragments. Tadashi Aono
In April, the height of spring, we will be holding a solo exhibition by Tadashi Aono , an iron sculptor who lives in Ome, Tokyo. Recently, Mr. Aono has started taking pieces of metal he finds while walking along the Tama River near his home and the Yoshino River in his hometown, and giving them a new lease on life by making just a few modifications to them. Now, in this solo exhibition, my first in two and a half years, I will be presenting my popular braziers and kettles with their unique shapes, flower vases with a beautiful wabi-sabi aesthetic, tea bowls that I hope will be used by someone with a samurai-like spirit, and some of my recent sculptures. Aono-san is a positive and kind-hearted person who says she wants to see, experience, and learn from various exhibitions. Since his first solo exhibition at our gallery, he has visited almost every one of our exhibitions, and has now become an important regular customer of Kakiden Gallery. I know you are very busy, but I would be grateful if you could take a look at it. Shop owner Takashi Yasuda |
