| Introduction Introduction |
On a cold afternoon in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, when snow still lingered on the streets, I visited Yuka's workshop. After passing through an imposing gate and crossing a small stream, a stylish white guesthouse appears. From the large windows of the modern and lovely interior, we could see the sukiya-style house with its garden and workshop, and the three of us—myself, the owner, ceramic artist Kyousuke Hayashi , and Yuka—had a pleasant chat for a while. They are a wonderful and charming couple of ceramic artists. Now, for this exhibition, our gallery's second, in addition to popular pink and gray works, we will be presenting for the first time our latest works, which are adorned with red dye. I had the opportunity to see this test piece during my visit, and I was very impressed by its beautiful, deep red color. This red piece wasn't ready in time for this direct mailing, but it will be included in the solo exhibition. Half a month after this exhibition, from April 13th to 19th, her husband, Kyosuke, will be holding a solo exhibition at Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi. We would be delighted if you could visit this exhibition in conjunction with Yuka's exhibition at our gallery.
