唐津焼の陶芸家・吉野魁(かい)さんが、昨年11月に亡くなられた。享年74歳。 70を機に娘の敬子さんに櫨(はぜ)ノ谷窯を譲り、「靖義」を「魁」と改名して新たな挑戦に踏み出されたばかりであった。 じつは20年程前、吉野さんの作陶人生を一変させる出来事があった。 それは、古唐津の原料である砂岩(さがん)との出会いである。 吉野さんは憑りつかれたように砂岩を唐臼で砕き、半年かけて粘土化したもので作品を作り続けた。 そして改名は、古唐津と現代を繋ぐ「唐津の魁(さきがけ)になりたい」という、吉野さんの表明でもあった。 今回の遺作展は、その吉野さんの夢を継いでの親子展である。 茶碗、花入などの茶陶唐津を中心に、向付、酒器など懐石の器が出品される。

| Biography Biography | ・吉野 魁 陶歴 昭和16年 伊万里市に生まれる 昭和45年 四連房の登り窯を築き作陶を始める Since then, I have been drawn to the unique texture of "Ko-Karatsu" ware and have dedicated myself to researching the clay, glaze, and kiln firing processes. 平成25年「魁(かい)」と改名する 平成27年 鬼籍に入る ・吉野敬子 陶歴 昭和47年 伊万里市に生まれる 平成8年 父、吉野靖義の櫨ノ谷窯にて修行 平成15年 有田窯業大学校でろくろの技術を学ぶ 平成18年 タイ、ベトナムにて現地の伝統技法を学ぶ 平成25年 櫨ノ谷窯窯主となる |
