Takagaki's works are appealing for their unique forms and beautiful glaze texture. Recently, Takagaki has moved away from the celadon pottery that had been so well-received in the past, and has instead become engrossed in creating works in red and black.
This will be my fourth solo exhibition at Kakiden Gallery, and I will be presenting this powerful new work in red and black. Why did he decide to step away from celadon, which he had been working on for so many years, and move on to a new field? According to him, it was a change of heart, but he said, "I'm not walking the easy path, I'm walking the thorny path." Now, we'll have to keep a close eye on what direction Takagaki-san takes from here.
Kind-hearted Ms. Takagaki will be at the venue every day, so we would be delighted if you could take a look at her wonderful new work in red and black.
