| Introduction Introduction |
Nearly 20 watermelons are growing in our garden. The seedlings are planted after the Golden Week holidays in May, and the flowers begin to bloom and the trees start to bear fruit from mid-June. We wait for that, then we go out into the garden, look at the fruit, touch it all over, and check on its growth day by day, experiencing both joy and disappointment. Then, after 45 days, you eat it, and it's incredibly delicious, filling you with a sense of happiness. Our artwork is born from these everyday experiences. I feel that we, too, are sustained by all things in the universe.
